Curacao

Portugal is one of my favorite holiday destinations in Europe. In the Algarve in the south you will find countless sandy beaches with beautiful villages and towns in the hinterland. If you go to Portugal for a beach holiday, the Algarve is the region to look at. Would you rather go on holiday in a less touristy part of Portugal? Then think of Alentejo. This province has not yet been discovered by mass tourism and many Portugal enthusiasts call it ‘the real Portugal’. If you want to see a lot of Portugal in a relatively short time, it is great fun to take a road trip from Porto to Lisbon(or vice versa of course). You plan your stops yourself and you can extend your trip with a few relaxing days in the Algarve. It is also an option to opt for a fly&drive. Madeira

A destination belonging to Portugal that I like to mention separately is Madeira. This island in the Atlantic Ocean does not resemble mainland Portugal at all. Madeira can be called downright tropical and it is not for nothing that the island is also called ‘the Hawaii of Europe’. The climate in Madeira is subtropical, which means that it is mild and mild all year round. For a holiday in Madeira, I advise you to book an accommodation in the south of the island. The north is beautiful, but it is often a lot colder and wetter here. I personally find Funchal and the surrounding area ideal as a base to explore the rest of the island.

 

Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are part of Spain but feel like a country in their own right. Due to their location off the coast of Morocco, it is nice and warm here all year round. Even in December, the chance of temperatures around 20 degrees is high. The Canary Islands consist of Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, La Palma, El Hierro and La Gomera. Each island really has its own identity. Sun, sea and beach lovers often choose Gran Canaria. Do you like to take a road trip or are you crazy about outdoor activities? Then Tenerife or Lanzarote is a better choice. Whichever island you choose, the Canary Islands are definitely a great holiday destination !

Bali

Bali has been one of the most popular holiday destinations for long-distance travel for years. Both for a first trip to Asia and for a traveler who has already seen a lot of the world, this is a top destination. Bali really has something for everyone. From lively villages like Ubud , cozy coastal towns like Canggu to complete tranquility in the sleepy towns in the east. Visit the beautiful rice fields, temples and waterfalls, take a bike ride from Mount Kintamani , learn to cook during a cooking class or relax on one of the many beaches. Be sure to take a trip to the beautiful island of Nusa Lembongan , which is only half an hour away by boat.

Sweden

Perhaps a somewhat strange duck in the bite, but Sweden is definitely a beautiful holiday destination in 2022.
