Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet we tend to neglect it in our hectic daily lives. Adopting certain habits for better mental health can gradually transform our emotional and psychological well-being. Here are 10 simple but effective practices you can integrate into your daily routine.

1. Start the day with 5 minutes of meditation

Taking a few minutes each morning to meditate helps calm the mind and center itself before facing the day’s challenges. This habit for better mental health helps reduce anxiety and improves our ability to manage stress. Start with just 5 minutes and gradually increase the time.

2. Limit screen time before bedtime

The blue light from screens disrupts our sleep by inhibiting the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. Try turning off all your electronic devices at least an hour before bedtime to promote restful sleep, which is essential for maintaining good mental health.

3. Practice gratitude daily

Make it a habit to write down three things you’re grateful for each day. This simple yet powerful practice refocuses our attention on the positive aspects of our lives rather than our shortcomings or problems. It’s a habit for better mental health that gradually transforms our perspective.

4. Move your body every day

Physical activity releases endorphins, the “feel-good” hormones. You don’t need intense gym sessions: a 30-minute walk, some yoga, or even dancing in your living room can be enough. The key is to move regularly.

5. Cultivate meaningful social connections

Humans are social beings by nature. Take time each day to nurture your relationships, whether through a phone call, a message, or a face-to-face meeting. Strong social connections provide a crucial emotional safety net for our mental well-being.

6. Take regular breaks

In our culture of constant productivity, we often forget the importance of breaks. Yet, taking a brief pause every 90 minutes or so allows our brain to recover and maintains our energy and concentration levels. This habit prevents mental exhaustion.

7. Spend time in nature

Nature has a calming effect on our nervous system. Even 15 minutes a day spent in a park, garden, or any green space can significantly reduce our levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. Try to connect with the natural world daily, even briefly.

8. Adopt a balanced diet

What we eat directly influences our mood and mental energy. Prioritize foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, B vitamins, and antioxidants. Reduce your consumption of refined sugars and ultra-processed foods, which can contribute to anxiety and mood swings.

9. Practice conscious breathing

Several times a day, take a minute to breathe deeply and consciously. This simple technique activates our parasympathetic nervous system, responsible for relaxation and recovery. It’s a habit easily adopted even on the busiest days.

10. Establish healthy boundaries

Learning to say no to demands that exceed our capabilities or desires is essential for preserving our mental health. Establish clear boundaries in your personal and professional relationships, and respect your own limits as well as those of others.

Conclusion

Adopting these habits for better mental health doesn’t require a complete overhaul of your life. Start by incorporating one or two practices that seem most accessible to you, then gradually add others. Consistency is more important than perfection: even if practiced imperfectly but regularly, these habits can transform your mental well-being in the long run.

🚨Remember that taking care of your mental health is not a luxury but a necessity. These small daily actions are investments in your present and future quality of life. What habit will you adopt today to improve your mental health?

The daily habits we adopt have a profound effect on our lives. Adopting healthy habits, such as exercising, eating nutritious foods, and getting enough sleep, can help us feel stronger both physically and emotionally.

Even small changes can make a big difference, like making your bed first thing in the morning or eating a healthy breakfast. Here are 10 simple, healthy habits that will change your life:

1. Walking

Walking is one of the simplest and most effective ways to improve your health. A regular walking routine can help you achieve your health goals, but also make you feel happier and closer to nature. After a good walk, some people also enjoy relaxing with recreational activities, such as exploring the games offered by MelBet online casino , to add a touch of fun to their day.

It’s also helpful to make walking social by finding a walking group or partner. This will make walking more enjoyable and encourage you to pursue your goal.

2. Exercise every day

To feel your best, it’s essential to adopt healthy habits such as a good diet, regular physical activity, and sufficient sleep. These healthy choices contribute to disease prevention, maintaining good heart health, and reducing stress levels.

While it may seem difficult to get 30 minutes of exercise in, there are many ways to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. Vigorous housework, gardening, and even going up and down stairs can all be considered exercise. Even short bursts of activity can improve your mood and give you energy. Over time, these small changes prove to be very beneficial.

3. Get a good night’s sleep

A good night’s sleep is essential for your mental health and overall well-being. Lack of sleep can affect your thinking ability, mood, heart health, and immune system.

One of the best ways to improve your sleep is to maintain a consistent sleep schedule. This means going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, including weekends.

It’s also important to avoid caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine before bed. In addition, it’s helpful to establish a relaxing bedtime routine. Try counting sheep, meditating, or listening to calming music.

4. Keep a journal

Whether you’re a fan of the cheap marble composition notebook or something more sophisticated, journaling is an excellent tool for self-reflection. Just be careful that your entries are for yourself, not for someone else to see—if you’re tempted to edit or censor yourself, you won’t be writing honestly.

Developing healthy habits takes time and commitment. But with consistency, you’ll soon find yourself adopting these behaviors without even thinking about it. Life Planner makes it easy to create and track new habits with its powerful habit-tracking features.

5. Drink a glass of water in the morning

Drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning is one of those healthy habits that everyone seems to swear by on social media. But does it really work?

Ultimately, drinking water, especially on an empty stomach, is always a good idea. But there are other things you can do to stay hydrated throughout the day, such as eating water-rich foods like fruits and vegetables.

As for whether or not you should drink a glass of water first thing in the morning, Mr. Rizzo says it’s up to you. Just make sure you drink enough water to stay hydrated and avoid overdoing it.

6. Take a bath or a shower

Baths are a luxurious pleasure that can help reduce stress and muscle fatigue, and improve sleep quality. They also stimulate circulation and are excellent for the skin.

Taking a shower before bed can help you fall asleep faster and sleep better. It also helps reduce the buildup of germs, sweat, body oils, and dirt on your bedding.

Adopting healthy habits requires determination and patience. But the effort is worth it. Whether you’re preparing your meals or waking up earlier, having clear goals and the support of others can help you stick to your new routine.

7. Eat a healthy snack

A healthy diet is the best preventative measure against health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and obesity. Make it a habit to eat a variety of whole foods, including lean meats, fish, beans, and nuts.

Plan ahead and stock your fridge with nutritious snacks so you can resist junk food cravings. Wash and chop fresh vegetables such as carrots, celery sticks, zucchini slices, and bell pepper strips for easy-to-pack snacks. Store them in reusable containers in the refrigerator or freezer.

8. Take a break from technology

Taking a break from technology can improve your mental health by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression levels. It can also promote a healthy lifestyle by giving your body a chance to relax and recharge without being on social media or your phone.

Creating new habits takes time and consistency. Start by identifying the areas where you struggle, then set small, achievable goals. For example, you could decide to watch television only on Sundays or limit the time you spend playing video games.

9. Take a bath or a shower

Many people prefer showers to baths for energy and environmental reasons, but a long, hot bath can do wonders for your physical health. Regular immersion in hot water promotes blood circulation, relieves aches and pains, and helps exfoliate the skin.

In addition, a hot shower triggers the release of endorphins and can boost the immune system. In terms of cleanliness, both baths and showers are effective at removing dirt and germs. The key is consistency.

10. Eat a healthy breakfast

It’s no secret that a balanced diet is vital for overall health and can help prevent chronic diseases such as high cholesterol, diabetes, and obesity. Eating more whole foods and avoiding processed and packaged foods high in saturated fats and added sugars is a crucial starting point for leading a healthier life.

Although many people skip breakfast because it upsets their stomach, it’s important to start the day with a nutritious meal. Try a bowl of nutrient-rich cereal, a piece of fruit, and some natural yogurt, or even a quick smoothie.

I regularly get the question, how and why do you use a serum . That’s why we’re diving deeper into the serum. How do you use it, but more importantly, why. I expect to be able to give you some answers.

What is a serum?

A serum is not the same as a face cream . It is a water, oil or gel based liquid that contains a high percentage of active ingredients. A serum works specifically on a specific skin problem or skin need and is worn daily under the day cream and night cream . It is mainly aimed at keeping or bringing your skin in a good condition, optimal maintenance at a high level.

A serum face is usually packaged in smaller vials, between 15 and 30 ml, of which you usually only need a few drops.

What does a facial serum do?

There are different types of serums, each containing its own active ingredients, which are tailored to your skin condition or the needs of your skin at the moment. You can therefore easily use different types of serums at the same time, for example by choosing a different serum under your day cream than under your night cream.

So what does a facial serum actually do? It brings and keeps your skin in the right condition, a continuous piece of maintenance and recovery.

Can you also just use a serum?

Everything is possible, of course, but it is not wise to only use a serum and nothing in addition. Apply the serum after your cleanser in the morning before your day cream and in the evening before your night cream.

There are serums that are enough in terms of skin feeling and do not immediately ask for an extra cream, at least that’s how you experience it on the skin. These are usually oil-based serums. Yet this is enough. A serum is an extra product that actually needs the day cream and night cream to come into its own. By using the creams over your serum, the serum will absorb better into the skin, will not evaporate and therefore do its job optimally.

Which serum is best?

The best serum is the serum that makes your skin “happy” so to speak. That means so much that your skin is lifted to a higher level by the serum. The overall skin condition will improve, your skin will get more balance when it comes to sebum regulation, the skin will become more deeply hydrated, have a more even appearance or experience firmer and more elasticity.

I list the best serums for you:

Anti Aging Serum

This serum will help the skin to recover from premature aging, but the serum will also help the skin to prevent too rapid skin aging. Starting with an anti-aging serum differs per skin and need, but also depends on your lifestyle. Our advice to start between the ages of 35 and 45 with a serum that contains anti-aging components. The anti-aging serum mainly works on collagen and elastin fibers, which provides reinforcement and more elasticity in the deeper layers of the skin. This gives slackening less chance and fine lines, cell renewal, hydration a real boost.

Image Skincare Ageless Total Anti Aging Serum will strengthen your skin, moisturize, give it more elasticity and have a cell renewal effect.

Hyaluronic Acid Serum

With the loss of the level of our skin’s own hyaluron, the skin loses its hydration and elasticity. Superficial fine lines can eventually become deeper wrinkles. Good hydration is therefore very important, Hyaluron can do a good job in this. A hyaluron serum strengthens the skin barrier, but can also penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin, so that the hyaluron serum optimally hydrates the skin and maintains it.

Novexpert Booster Serum Hyaluronic Acid is a powerful and concentrated serum with no less than 3.2% pure Hyaluronic Acid consisting of 4 different hyaluronan molecules, each of which has its specific function in the skin. Powerful hydration that provides the skin with Hyaluron, which visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

Retinol Serum

A retinol serum is a powerful serum in the anti-aging approach. It has the power to accelerate skin renewal, with the aim of: – increased production of new collagen and elastin – extra exfoliation of the skin, giving it a fresher appearance – reduce blockages – improve inflammation – reduce pigmentation – visible fine lines and wrinkles to fade.

A serum with retinol must be built up to let the skin get used to it. It is therefore good to always start with a low percentage of retinol, 0.3%. Retinol is also sensitive to daylight, so it is advisable to use the retinol serum only as a night serum.

Medik8 Retinol 3TR is a stimulating vitamin A serum containing 0.3% retinol. The fine lines and crow’s feet are visibly remedied and it makes the skin visibly younger, evens the skin complexion and repairs the skin of imperfections.

Vitamin C Serum

This serum is an all-rounder in the field of skin care. Very effective when it comes to skin aging, pigmentation, acne, collagen production, protection against UV radiation and blue light, hydration. Actually too many to mention. Even leftover scars are improved when using a Vitamin C Serum for the face.

Alpha H Vitamin C Serum is such an all-rounder that helps your skin with collagen production, reduces pigmentation, is rich in antioxidants and protects against UV rays and improves hydration.

Which serum should I choose?

Are you convinced that a facial serum can do a lot of extra for your skin? But are you still unsure which serum that could be? Always look at your current skin needs. A Hyaluron Serum and or a Vitamin C Serum are both always good choices to start with. Both serums are suitable for all skin types, but also for all skin needs and skin conditions of the moment.

Winter is coming again, reason to prepare the skin well! Winter has its charms, but it is important to winterize the skin. You can read here [...]

Winter is coming again, reason to prepare the skin well!

Winter has its charms, but it is important to winterize the skin. You can read here how best to do that!

Now we have really arrived in another season, the mild weather is over!
Cold wind, the temperature is dropping ….. you can already feel the new season on your skin.

In winter, your skin will produce less sebum, so that the top layer of skin contains less skin fat. In addition, your skin is almost continuously exposed to low humidity due to the (combination of) dry cold outdoors and heating indoors, causing the skin to lose moisture faster and fine wrinkles appear.

So it’s time to take action!

PROTECTION of the skin.

Protection of the skin is actually the most important thing in winter! In the first place, the skin must be protected as much as possible. For this we have winter coats, hats, scarves and gloves not only keep you nice and warm, but also protect your skin. Only when we go outside do we have to protect the skin of your face extra and you do that with a comfortable day cream from Decaar, Ericson Laboratoire,

Hydrate

Hydrating is also very important along with protecting the skin. Due to the dry cold air outside and the dry warm air inside, extra moisture is extracted from the skin and the skin feels tighter than in other seasons. Therefore use moisturizing products from Decaar Ericson Laboratoire, eg a moisturizing serum or a moisturizing mask.

SCRUB

A good scrub can also contribute a lot to counteracting dry skin, especially the flaking! After scrubbing , a lovely mask on the face or a nourishing body cream on the body and the skin is resistant to the winter influences again.

Me Time

During this busy time between the busy holidays and the new year, plan some relaxing Me-Time: Have a bubbling bath with delicious bubble bath and a good book, followed by a relaxing face mask and music that makes you happy.
A little extra time for yourself is never wasted, you get extra energy and you can use that quite well in this time. But your skin also benefits!

Your house

It also pays to ensure good indoor humidity, by hanging sufficient water containers on radiators or possibly with the help of a humidifier. This is also nice for your airways, which are often irritated in the autumn and are ravaged by all kinds of pathogenic viruses and bacteria.

Vegetable oils and fats have been used for nutrition and health for centuries. It is still the case that more than half of the world’s population produces and uses these fats and oils locally. Due to their fantastic skin care properties, availability and low cost, these natural oils and fats are immensely popular as skin moisturizers. They protect the skin and make the skin resistant to environmental influences. Many types of vegetable oils are used and new ones are added every month.

These natural oils are also receiving more attention in our regions because of their numerous benefits. The value lies in the so-called bioactive components of the fat or oil with a demonstrable effect on the skin (for an overview, see Sarkar 2017 and Vaughn 2018, among others). In contrast to mineral oils, natural oils and fats are able to use the components as building blocks in the formation of a healthy epidermis. In addition to emollient qualities, natural oils and fats possess components with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Many varieties have great potential in skin repair and maintenance of healthy skin.

There are many mechanisms involved in skin healing and hydration, but in this text we focus on two ways in which the plant oils function: repairing the skin barrier and moisturizing the skin. The role of a natural oil is to properly hydrate the skin and therefore a moisturizing plant oil should be the basis of any skin care product.

Skin hydration

Natural oils and fats moisturize the skin by penetrating the stratum corneum, the stratum corneum layer of the epidermis. This stratum corneum consists of 15-20 flat thin layers of dead skin cells. There are various causes that cause openings or tears in the stratum corneum, such as aging, lifestyle, environmental influences, wrong skin products and incorrect use of the products. The figure below shows how natural oils and fats can restore the skin.

Restoring the skin barrier

Several studies have shown that natural oils with a high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids (especially linoleic acid) and a low percentage of oleic acid (a monounsaturated fatty acid) can best penetrate the skin and restore its barrier function. Conversely, oils high in oleic acid can irritate the skin and do not restore barrier function. For example, sunflower oil has been shown to quickly restore the barrier function of damaged skin. A good quality sunflower oil consists of more than 60% linoleic acid. When olive oil was tested on damaged skin, barrier function did not recover and trans-epidermal water loss worsened. This does not mean that only natural oils with a high content of linoleic acid should be used on the skin. But it does mean that if you want to choose a good moisturizer, it’s a good idea to choose a natural oil that is high in linoleic acid and low in oleic acid. Some good oils are sunflower seed, rosehip, sacha inchi, cactus and hemp seed.

It is worth noting that coconut and jojoba are low in linoleic or oleic acid. However, there is evidence that jojoba and coconut can reduce moisture loss from the skin. Apparently other mechanisms are at work here. Jojoba is actually a wax, so it functions differently on the skin. Jojoba resembles human sebum and is able to maintain an occlusive layer on the skin. In combination with another plant oil such as argan, rosehip, sacha inchi and hemp seed, jojoba is a top product for the skin.

For example, the properties and function of each natural oil or fat should be determined. For example, specific effects of various natural oils have been demonstrated. For example, sweet almond oil has been found to reduce the effect of skin aging caused by UV rays and slow down the aging process. Argan oil (Argania spinosa) improved skin hydration in postmenopausal women by restoring barrier function and reducing moisture loss. Argan oil was also taken in the study and that fact alone turned out to be a factor in skin repair!

In short, natural oils and fats function in a number of ways, two of which are highlighted in this article. They penetrate the stratum corneum, restoring the barrier function, minimizing water loss and using the ingredients as a building block for healthy skin. In addition, these oils form an occlusive layer so that the skin can protect itself well. Choose a plant oil with a high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids (especially linoleic acid) and a low percentage of oleic acid (a monounsaturated fatty acid), so that it can best penetrate the skin and restore the barrier function.

Since I also like to analyze people as a hobby psychologist, I always like to watch trash TV. Battle of the Reality Stars is currently running. There is the shepherd Heinrich, who absolutely avoids conflict. He wants to be liked by everyone, doesn’t dare to open his mouth and is heavily criticized for it. Others, like Elena Miras, never stop speaking up for themselves, justified or not. For years I preferred not to say anything myself because the stress was always too much for me. Whether in friendships or in professional life. At least that’s what I told myself. But why am I afraid of conflict?

I am very afraid of conflicts

I myself am a person who reacts very emotionally very quickly. Even small arguments lead to big tears. Conflicts therefore cause me great anxiety because I then have to deal with them. I have to endure negative feelings. The avoidance tactic often seems to be the better alternative. In fact, as I’ve learned even more over the past few days, the middle ground is probably the best solution here too. Don’t put up with everything, but also don’t start a fight right away – but represent your own opinion in a friendly and determined manner and stand up for yourself. Phew, not that easy!

Why am I afraid of conflict?

What do Schäfer Heinrich, I and maybe you have in common? Well, there are certainly very different reasons why someone is or has become conflict-averse. In any case, we are all very in need of harmony and believe that arguments are better suppressed. But in fact, that is also part of healthy relationships.

This is how non-violent communication works

However, kindness and courtesy do not necessarily guarantee a non-violent attitude behind our words.I myself am a person who likes to express myself briefly and concisely, especially in the professional world. I am friendly but also determined. I don’t like it to drift too much into the emotional. This is often seen as rude behavior – although I didn’t mean it that way.

I also find it fascinating that Rosenberg sees every form of violence as a tragic expression of an unfulfilled need. He also says that people are quick to respond to criticism with either defense or counterattack.

This is exactly what scares me so much about conflict. Can non-violent communication help me assert myself better and more comfortably in the future? What bothered me at first was that it almost seemed like a form of manipulation. But I think I just need to read up more on the subject and get to know it better. That’s why I want to get some literature on it too!

Have you ever explored nonviolent communication? Do you see yourself as conflict-averse?

Vitamin SEA: you hear it regularly. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Several studies have shown that swimming in the sea makes a positive contribution to your health in various ways. In this blog I will tell you more about this!

A boost for your immune system and your skin

For starters, the sea is a boost for your immune system and very good for your skin. I will briefly explain why:

– Salt water has an antibacterial effect and sea water is full of iodine. The latter is
good for your thyroid. Your hormones, skin and hair benefit from the
salty seawater with iodine and therefore feel much better after a dive in the
sea.

– Nothing is as effective against dead skin cells as the sand and salt from the sea. The heat
and the sun cause the pores to open, so that the salty
seawater can easily absorb toxic substances from the body.

– The sea is seen as the perfect natural peeling. Seawater removes
dead skin cells. For example, people who suffer from pimples can suddenly
experience smoother skin.

– Certain minerals found in seawater
prevent cell aging.

– Magnesium, a mineral commonly found in seawater, has a powerful
effect. Not only is it good for rough skin and inflammation, but it
also ensures that the skin retains moisture and thus stays hydrated.

Seawater reduces complaints of skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.
The salt and potassium chloride in the seawater treats damaged skin,
accelerating the healing process.
We can therefore conclude that the sea is good for your skin in several ways!

Beneficial for hay fever and asthma patients

Research shows that the sea is good for reducing allergies. Because the
seawater acts as a salt rinse, it clears the nasal passages of irritating pollen. For example
, seawater can reduce the symptoms of hay fever, such as a runny nose. In addition
, the air by the sea contains much less pollen and pollen, so that hay fever and
asthma patients can benefit from a stay by the sea. Sea air is also seen by doctors
as a medicine that you can breathe. A good excuse to look for the sea
!

Relaxation

Swimming in the sea makes a positive contribution to relaxation of the joints and
muscles. In addition, swimming in seawater causes the production of dopamine in the
brain, which in turn provides a boost to mental health and well-being.
Swimming in seawater is therefore seen by psychologists as a kind of mindfulness.
Because the mineral salts in seawater spread in your bronchi, your body
will absorb oxygen faster. This creates extra serotonin, also called the
happiness hormone, which in turn has a positive effect on your mood and stress.

Sleep like a log

The chance of a good night’s sleep is much greater after a day on the coast. It is
seen as a natural way to get to sleep more easily. The sea improves
three things that normally make it difficult for you to fall asleep: stress / restlessness,
physical activity and hormones. For people with Insomnia, a visit
to the sea is definitely worth trying.

better sex life

Last but not least, research shows that taking a dip in cold seawater is said to be good
for your sex life. When you take a refreshing dip, testosterone and
estrogen levels rise sharply. This can only be good for your bed performance.

The islands are small habitats, differentiated and isolated to some extent from the rest of the world, which makes these pieces of land fascinating places from the point of view of ecology and the evolution of their flora and fauna.

And it is that each island presents a unique biological history , which provides important information to researchers about how the different ecological and evolutionary forces operate throughout the world .

Isolation and endemic species

How can we know that the current rate of extinction of animal species on a planetary scale is above normal? Studying an island and measuring, for example, the relationship between land area and natural biodiversity .

In other words, knowing the population density of flora and fauna, we can learn more about how species on the continents become extinct or flourish. One of the reasons why this density is higher on islands is because there is a greater scarcity of predators and competitors.

Nonetheless, the low species richness on islands makes them extremely vulnerable to invasion by introduced species .

The islands are also home to most of the planet’s endemic species (that is, species found nowhere else), and some have been separated from the rest for so long that they have formed distinct families, like the kiwis of New Zeeland. Others have become extinct on the continents, but survive on islands, like the lemurs of Madagascar.

Therefore, the islands are almost like alien planets that must be carefully preserved and studied, as Michael J. Benton explains in his book The Seventy Great Mysteries of the Natural World :

The ecology and evolution of island biodiversity remain a major focus of research. Reconstructions of evolutionary trees using molecular evidence reveal the history of colonization and diversification of the islands. Comparisons with their close continental relatives show us the changes they have undergone, and studies of recent colonization identify the pressures and constraints of natural selection on these species.

Wind, cold, fluctuating temperatures, dry air in the house… Your skin feels drier in winter. Adding a little more fats to your skin care routine certainly [...]

Wind, cold, fluctuating temperatures, dry air in the house… Your skin feels drier in winter. Adding a little more fats to your skin care routine certainly won’t hurt. Below you will find a handy overview with tips to take good care of your skin in the winter. Because you often know it, but it is also so forgotten…

1) Add (a fuller) night cream to your ritual.

2) Make time to pamper your skin with a nourishing mask once every two weeks. If you make it a nice moment, you immediately have some extra relaxation. And that is also good for your skin. You can give your skin a peeling beforehand, so that the mask can absorb extra well. Preferably use a mild scrub, because of the winter conditions your skin is often a bit thinner. Momentje for yourself sets are available for a wonderful home treatment, tailored to your wishes and needs.

3) Protect your skin well against the cold. If it gets really cold and you are out for a long time: apply an extra layer of greasy cream. If necessary, a layer of Vaseline, which you can of course remove well afterwards.

4) Make the air in the house less dry by using a humidifier. With a diffuser, or just a bowl of water on the heating.

5) The rest of your body often struggles with drier skin. Therefore, use a moisturizing shower cream and/or body lotion. Also pay attention to the temperature of the bath and shower. Although the temptation may be great: a high temperature makes your skin extra dry.

6) Get plenty of exercise: that stimulates blood flow and is good for metabolism in the skin.

7) Don’t forget your hands and lips: they are having a hard time right now. If the temperature drops below ten degrees, wearing gloves is not an unnecessary luxury. And regular application of hand cream and lip balm is likely to be highly appreciated, too.

8) The skin around the eyes could also use some extra care. An eye cream and the occasional eye mask will help this thin skin through the winter.

9) Avoid products with cheap alcohol (drys skin extra skin) and perfume (is irritating). With the products of SPA aromatherapy, Les Gavots, Marlyse Blue and Loveli you can be sure that you are in the right place.

10) Are you going on a winter sport or sun holiday? Don’t forget the UV protection. The sun is skin aging number 1.

Almost exactly a year ago I really started listening to Laura’s podcast over and over again. That’s when I first heard of “forgiveness”. That was a very big rejection for me at the time, I was firmly of the opinion that I can never forgive what my parents did to me. I still didn’t understand what forgiveness really means. Because it’s not about suddenly condoning what happened. You don’t even have to contact the people you want to forgive. Instead, you accept what is so far. Make your own peace with it. Through this acceptance you break the resistance, can heal and finally live in the present.

We hold on to something when we resist it

If we cannot accept certain things from the past, if we keep fighting against them, then we are holding ourselves back from living a happy life. We live through the conflicts again and again in the present, trying to solve them. All my previous “relationships” have been a minefield, which has always reminded me of my family tragedy.

But now I understand that it wasn’t “stupid” on my part, but that life sent me these people so that I could resolve conflicts. So that I look, do not repress. No human is accidental in your life. Relationships with other people always hold a mirror up to us so that we can recognize ourselves.

After learning a lot about the misconceptions about forgiveness , I was ready to tackle it. Online coaching works very well for me because I can deal with it at my own pace in my safe space at home. This is easier for me because it can be easily integrated into my everyday life and is not easy for me.

I never thought that I would be sitting here a year later and seriously starting a course on forgiving mothers. We ask ourselves many questions, do meditations and examine the topic of forgiveness from all sides. It helps me a lot. But I didn’t think that the real problems would start with forgiving the father. I can not do that. Every time I try to start meditating on this subject, I drift off. How deep is this pain, why was I never aware of it? “Father” was never present for me, as if the topic didn’t even exist. After all, I hardly know this man, who is he to me?

What does forgiveness really mean?

So far, forgiveness has been the biggest game changer in my personal development . I realized that my mother is just a hurt child who never learned how to express love. I never want to be in contact with this woman again because of everything she did to me. That’s not what I was talking about. I do not absolve them of guilt. I absolve myself from continuing to live with this accusation against her. What happened, that happened. It made me the person I am today and gave me many strengths along the way. Through forgiveness I can stop living in the past. Acceptance = letting go, that is forgiveness.

We can also forgive ourselves. Sometimes we judge ourselves even harder than we judge other people. What do you finally want to forgive?
